Αυτή θα ήταν η περιγραφή μου αν κάποιος μου ζητούσε να περιγράψω κάποιες στιγμές από το event. Το να ξεκινάς μία πτήση 06:00 το πρωί (ώρα που ξεκινάει και η πραγματική πτήση) σε κάνει να αισθάνεσαι πιο πολύ την πραγματικότητα και δεν είναι ψέμα όταν λέω πως στην Μυτιλήνη ενώ επιβιβάζονταν οι επιβάτες αισθάνθηκα πως μύριζα την πρωινή δροσιά. Όταν δε ξημέρωσε είχα το ίδιο συναίσθημα που έχει κάποιος όταν από την νύχτα περνά στο φως της ημέρας.
Στο event της OAV έλαβαν μέρος με το callsign OAV τριάντα δύο πιλότοι και εκτέλεσαν ενενήντα δύο πτήσεις σε διάφορες περιοχές της Ελλάδος ή ακόμα και εξωτερικού. Σε αυτήν την λίστα πρέπει να προσθέσω και κάποιους πιλότους που πέταξαν μαζί μας με δικό τους call sign υπολογίζοντας έτσι των αριθμό των πιλότων σε ενενήντα έξι. Σημειώνω εδώ πως μέσα σε αυτούς που πέταξαν σαν OAV υπήρχαν αρκετοί πιλότοι που πετούσαν σε άλλες αεροπορικές εταιρείες – ελληνικές και ξένες - και τους οποίους ευχαριστώ που μας έκαναν την τιμή να πετάξουν μαζί μας.
Μεγάλη ήταν και η προσέλευση των ελεγκτών εναέριας κυκλοφορίας αφού για να μείνει επανδρωμένη η περιοχή των Αθηνών χρειάσθηκαν τουλάχιστον δεκαέξι άτομα κρατώντας την περιοχή ανοιχτεί από το πρωί 06:00 τοπική (04:00z) μέχρι το βράδυ 24:00 τοπική (22:00z).
Ο πιλότος που εκτέλεσε τις περισσότερες πτήσεις και κατά συνέπεια ο πιλότος που θα βραβευθεί από την Ολυμπιακή Αεροπορία Virtual είναι ο Νανούρης Γιάννης (862136) με επτά πτήσεις με δεύτερο τον Βέρνικο Βασίλη (913921) με έξη πτήσεις. Μέσα από αυτό το event πιστεύω πως δόθηκε η ευκαιρία σε αρκετούς πιλότους που έλαβαν μέρος να νοιώσουν ποιο κοντά στα συναισθήματα που νοιώθει ένα πραγματικός πιλότος κάποιας εταιρείας. Δουλεία του OCC από την άλλη ήταν με το δυναμικό που είχε να εκτελέσει τον μεγαλύτερο αριθμό πτήσεων κρατώντας τις μικρότερες δυνατές καθυστερήσεις πράγμα που πιστεύουμε πως επιτευχθεί ως ένα βαθμό.
Εδώ θα ήθελα να ευχαριστήσω όλους αυτούς που μας βοήθησαν να κάνουμε πραγματικότητα αυτό το event και ειδικά τους

Q Γιάννη Νανούρη που εκτός των πτήσεων που έκανε άνοιξε και OCC και παρά όλα αυτά έκανε τις περισσότερες πτήσεις (δηλαδή αλλιώς πόσα σκέλη θα έκανες Γιάννη;).
Q Αγγελόπουλο Θεόδωρο που ενώ για αλλού ξεκίνησε έκανε πέντε σκέλη σε λιγότερο από τέσσερις ώρες βοηθώντας έτσι το OCC να «βγάλει» περισσότερες πτήσεις.
Q Όλους τους controllers που άνοιξαν positions εκείνη την ημέρα και που χωρίς αυτούς δεν θα είχε γίνει καν το event. Ειδικές βέβαια ευχαριστίες αξίζουν και στους Κ.Σιδέρη και Εμ.Στεφανάκη που άνοιξαν τα positions από τις 06:00 τοπική (04:00z)

A Real Day
Debriefing

Athens Radar has already opened their position and the first flights receive last information from the operations centre (Operating Control Center OCC). The event of Olympic Airways Virtual named “A Real Day” has already begun with the first morning flights to Mytilene, Mykonos and Larnaca. The Athens Approach Controller (Em. Stefanakis) in cooperation with the OCC (St. Tsagaratos) and Athens Control (K. Sideris) help the flights within the Greek FIR to reach their destinations on time. The OCC has already been informed about the arrival times of the aircrafts in order to be able to organize the next slots. After some time, flights from abroad arrive in Greece while the time has not reached even 07:00 local time.
That would be my description, if someone asked me to describe some moments from the event. Starting the preparation of a flight in 06:00 in the morning (time that the real flight is scheduled as well) makes you feel the “real thing” closely and it is not a lie telling that I felt the morning mist during the boarding in Mytilene. Furthermore, when the sun arose, I had the same feeling as someone passes from the night to the day’s light.
In the event of Olympic, 32 pilots with the callsign of OAV participated and operated 92 flights in various locations of Greece and abroad. Adding to this list the pilots that operated flights with their own callsign, the total number of pilots participated that day is 96. I would like to note that a lot of pilots of other airlines (Greek and foreign included) flew with us and I would like to thank them for that.
Great was also the ATC participation. The Athens Terminal Area stayed active almost from 06:00 in the morning till 24:00 local time. And for that sixteen controllers were on duty.
The pilot operated the most flights and consequently he will be awarded from Olympic Virtual, is John Nannouris (862136). He flew seven flights totally and in the second place was Bill Vernikos (913921) operating six flights. In the following table, it can be seen the flights in detail.
Through this event, the pilots had the chance to feel closely the feelings of a real airline pilot. On the other hand, the aim of the OCC was to maintain the level of the delays very low and to ensure the operation of all flights in the same time. In our opinion this was done successfully.
