15th, April 2005 HVACC Triangle Event. 15th, April 2005 HVACC Triangle Event. Hellenic VACC organized on Friday 15 April the "Triangle fly-in" which took place from 20:00 till 00:00LT (17:00-21:00)z just to celebrate the "arrival" of the new pilots' clients. Olympic Airways Virtual was there with at least 25 pilots. The event started at 20:00 lt with the airports of Athens (LGAV), Thessaloniki (LGTS) and Irakleion (LGIR) full staffed. Most of the flights where between Irakleion And Athens but having also the Austrian event which held between Irakleion and Vienna filling the Greek virtual Skies with more aircrafts making controller's “life” more difficult. After 10:30 many pilots outside of Greece watching all that traffic and noticing how well staffed was Greece came to join the event increasing the traffic closer to the limits. The event was supposed to close at 00:00 lt but nobody closed before 00:30. Last station closed at 01:40 supposing to every body that such events are good to happen more often.
